Working for over 20 years as a professional artist I have had the opportunity to work for companies, municipal institutions and private contractors.

 2015 - present :  C-Lab Gallery.

With Jasper Banen I started a gallery where we exhibited 114 artists during a three year period.  In collaboration with Herbert van der Brugghen who is an architect/curator we organised 6 exhibitions: "Painters", "Drawings", "Graphics", "Nieuw-West imagined", "Objects", "Artists and Textile" , "Aquarel" and "Assemblies & Collages".

 

2014 - 2019 :

Collaboration with artist John Cees Smit.

Production of New Abstract Paintings sized 180 X 250 cm / 70 X 98.42 inch

Foundation of Studio Smit on the Lijnbaansgracht 31-32 in Amsterdam.

An artspace and work space. Studio Smit Shows has the ambition to organise many groupshows coming years.

2014 - 2016 :

Creative supervision youth project "Paint your Future" run by graffiti artist Benjamin Benrakad. In this interesting project we (re)intergrate youth into the labour and study process by means of a creative trajectory. These young men and women have lost faith in a normal future and pose a potential and unacceptable loss for society. In a 5 weeks period we stimulate their creativity which will help them in solving problems in everyday life, learn them to manage their time and when ready introduce them to a suitable  education or employer.
